Watch Dogs Gameplay at E3 2012

Ubisoft's Open World Underdog Will Blow Your Mind

June 4, 2012 by

Although most attendees of today’s E3 media briefings went in looking most forward to getting first looks at games like Gears of War: Judgment and The Last of Us, it was the debut of a previously unannounced game that flew under everyone’s radar until Ubisoft’s briefing halfway through the day that shocked everyone in attendance and watching at home. By coming out of nowhere with a captivating intro video relating the Northeast blackout of 2003 and the data mining of our current society through the electronic devices we use, Ubisoft painted the perfect picture of a scary near-future setting where our technology is used against us.

If the intro video wasn’t enough to get everyone’s attention and play out as a perfect teaser trailer to have everyone wondering what they had just witnessed, Ubisoft went on to actually debut gameplay of their potential show-stealer, Watch Dogs. Although it’s still not confirmed what exactly the game was being presented on (we’ve heard a highly powered PC), the open world game looked absolutely stunning. I would even say more impressive than Grand Theft Auto V (from what we’ve seen of that so far).

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is something you have to see to believe. Whether it will be this year’s Game of the Show at E3 is still unclear, but the way it caught everyone off guard with something they weren’t expecting and ended up blowing them away is what E3’s always been about and what makes it so special. Check out the intro and gameplay below and get ready to have your mind blown.
