Earlier this summer, Harry Potheads helping the final film in their beloved franchise open to the biggest movie debut ever were treated to the first official teaser for next summer’s highly anticipated trilogy bookend, The Dark Knight Rises. I bought a Deathly Hallows Part 2 ticket just to see the brief Batman preview, then returned it and left afterwards. Ha!
Next week on Dec. 16, moviegoers will get the chance at two different looks of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic superhero film. Audiences watching Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows will see the new full-length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, while those shelling out a few extra bucks to watch Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in IMAX might experience the The Dark Knight Rises‘ six-minute prologue, which features the introduction of new villain Bane (played by Tom Hardy).
Do you remember watching the last Batman movie’s prologue, which unforgettably introduced Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning performance as The Joker, in IMAX theaters right before I Am Legend four years ago? And what will you be watching next Friday… the next Sherlock Holmes or the next Mission: Impossible? How about both?
