Paramount Pictures and Skydance Pictures have just released the first trailer for Terminator: Genisys which will be a reboot of the Terminator series, a sequel to the existing films, and most likely the first of a whole new trilogy.
The trailer begins in 2029 Los Angeles taking us back to the future after the events of Judgement Day where John Connor (Jason Clarke) is leading the war against machines. Conner’s second in command, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), offers to go back in time to protect John’s mother Sarah Conner (Emilia Clarke) from Terminators sent back by Skynet, but once returning to 1984, things are different than the events we witnessed in the first film.
The upcoming literal reboot story is set for release July 2015 and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty / Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Jai Courtney (A Good Day to Die Hard / I, Frankenstein), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), and Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe).
