After overwhelming fan outrage, the old alien script has been burned and the “Teenage Mutant” name has returned to the title. Now, we finally have a first look at director Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) and producer Michael Bay’s new take on the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
Will the changes help appease angry Bay haters and those refusing to take off their rose-tinted glasses? Probably not… because “Ahh! Michael Bay! Explosions! Remember old things? They were all better!”
TMNT, our #14 most anticipated movie of the year, is set for release August 2014; here’s an official description of the plot:
The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
