DC’s answer to Marvel’s overwhelmingly successful B Team has had the Internet and hardcore fans split ever since the first reveal of Jared Leto’s new Joker. But whether pro- or anti-Leto’s tattoo’d up new take on the clown, this first proper trailer for DC’s Suicide Squad is something that most will agree is certifiably bad-ass.
Just like Guardians of the Galaxy, DC’s bold vision of focusing on the baddies instead of the good guys is looking better and better with each new look at actual footage. And the stylish new marketing campaign and use of one of the greatest rock songs of all time is sure to help recruit more members on the Squad’s side who might have been questioning if director David Ayer could pull this off after so many controversial character and casting decisions.
Suicide Squad is set for release on August 5, 2016, and stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, and of course, Jared Leto as the Joker.
