It wouldn’t be a Sony press conference at E3 without a big announcement that a beloved series is coming back. While games that were announced in previous years like Final Fantasy 7 and Shenmue 3 were absent this year, Sony made sure to fill that gap with a huge Shadow of Colossus reveal.
At this year’s E3, Sony confirmed that the beloved adventure game, Shadow of the Colossus, is being remastered for the PlayStation 4. In the debut trailer, Bluepoint Games (who previously worked on The Nathan Drake Collection for Uncharted) showed off a quick tease of stunning new in-game visuals that look to bring the classic into the current-gen.
While any Shadow of the Colossus news is enough to get PlayStation gamers hyped, this isn’t the first time the game has been remastered. Back in 2011, Shadow of the Colossus was remastered for the PlayStation 3.
Considering that the original launched back in 2005 and many players have already purchased other remastered versions, hopefully, Sony won’t charge a full $60 for yet another remaster when it’s released in early 2018 on PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro.
