Like the Resident Evil franchise, Silent Hill is now becoming its own movie series with most of the original cast of 2006’s film returning this Halloween in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. As you can gather from the title, the trip to Silent Hill this time around will be a little more expensive as the studio goes down the same road as Resident Evil and tries to cash in on the 3D craze with bigger special effects and even bigger ticket prices.
Fans will be happy to know that the film is not a reboot and a true sequel that’s based on the events of the third game, right before the iconic series started to go downhill. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is set for release on October 26, 2012, and stars Sean Bean, Kit Harington, Malcolm McDowell, Carrie-Anne Moss, Radha Mitchell, and Adelaide Clemens. Check out the official synopsis and first trailer below:
The story follows Heather Mason, along with her father, who have been on the run – always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now, on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
