Grand Theft what? The latest trailer released for THQ’s upcoming third installment in their open world series Saints Row has just been released, and it might be one of the best video game trailers of all time.
While Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s trailer from last year’s E3 stole the show, the latest trailer for Saints Row 3 might have stolen the show before E3 has even begun, if it weren’t for the trailer being all pre-rendered footage.
Nevertheless, the trailer looks better than any trailer for a blockbuster movie coming out this summer, and is a far better use of the song “Power” than The Social Network‘s trailer. Check out the HD version below (switch to 720p on the bottom right of the YouTube player) and get ready for Saints Row 3 on November 15th. Here’s an official synopsis from THQ:
Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to a new city, playing out the most outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen. Strap it on.
