One of the most popular VR games to date has been the comical and technically impressive Job Simulator. With gameplay focused on following orders and tinkering with objects to complete goofy objectives in office buildings, restaurants, and chop shops, the idea of a level in a mad scientist’s lab only seems natural. And today on 4/20/2017, Owlchemy Labs and Adult Swim are officially bringing the 2D characters of Rick and Morty into the third dimension… and beyond.
At first glance, Virtual Rick-ality seems like a simple skin/add-on for Job Simulator, but in the latest gameplay trailer it looks like there could be a little more to the experience besides just a bunch of gimmicky VR inside jokes made in Morty’s garage. Here’s hoping for the chance to actually play ‘Roy’ at Chitz and Blips and make it past 55 Years!
We’ve seen other great free Rick and Morty mobile games such as their take on Pokémon with Pocket Mortys and Jerry’s bubble-popping game, but Vitrual Rick-ality might be the best and most immersive experience yet that ties together all of the jokes from Seasons 1 and 2 — and likely Season 3 in some form of future downloadable content.
Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality is available now for everyone with a HTC Vive or Oculus Rift box on their face for $29.99.
