It’s clear that Hollywood is almost completely out of new ideas. With the well starting to dry up, anything different is a welcome change and good excuse to plunk down fifteen dollars a ticket to see a movie while it’s still new in theaters. Enter R.I.P.D that seems like a very interesting new idea:
A recently killed young cop joins a team of undead police officers working for an undead police force known as the Rest In Peace Department in an effort to try and find the man who killed him.
Sounds like an intriguing new idea… that is until you discover that it’s just another case of a comic book being adapted into a film and then watch the trailer that makes the movie look like a straight rip-off of the Men in Black series. I mean c’mon, why do the dead people even look like aliens?
That being said, and Jeff Bridges’ goofy voice aside, the trailer still got my attention and made me laugh — plus Marissa Miller looks smokin’ hot. R.I.P.D. could be one of the most entertaining films at the box office this summer when it hits theaters on July 19, 2013. Check out the first official trailer for the movie now.
