It’s been about nearly four months since loyal MediaStinger readers first knew to stick around after the credits of Captain America: The First Avenger to enjoy the very first teaser for the big-budget blockbuster that kicks off summer 2012. Marvel’s grand plan is starting to come to its culmination via The Avengers, which brings together some of its more popular superheroes.
Along with some characters who’ve only made prior appearances in the Marvel universe (Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye), The Avengers features tentpole heroes Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). The explosive trailer reveals a familiar villain, some intra-squad strife, and of course, your obligatory Robert Downey, Jr., wisecracks. The Avengers hits theaters May 4, 2012.
