Despite it being one of the best games of the year, with all the money put into its production and marketing, the latest Tomb Raider reboot didn’t sell as well as Square Enix had projected. But don’t worry about the status of the sequel because the suits at Square have come up with a brilliant idea… sell the same game again… but this time, on next-gen consoles!
While a next-gen port of one of the year’s best isn’t something to be upset about, the news is a bit on the disappointing side as I’m sure many had hoped the next bit of news regarding Tomb Raider would be about the sequel, not an HD remake.
Judging by the trailer, the game looks like it will play exactly the same, and there doesn’t even seem to be a large jump in the visual department that justifies spending $60 for the game again — especially when you can get the PC version right now for only $10 on Steam and likely crank up the settings to make it look even better than this “Definitive Edition” that’s set for release this February.
