Summit Entertainment announced today that The Twilight Saga: New Moon broke the midnight box office record by bringing in $26 million from 3,514 theaters last night at 12:01 a.m.
The second installment of the Twilight series easily beat the $22 million midnight record previously held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and last year’s The Dark Knight, which made $18 million.
