Halo 4 Gameplay from E3 2012

Microsoft's Media Briefing Gives a First Look at Master Chief's Comeback

June 4, 2012 by

Microsoft ended their E3 media briefing last year with an epic Halo 4 teaser that had everyone talking, so what better way to start off their 2012 briefing than with their biggest exclusive?

We were lucky enough to be there live for the full event, and although we knew coming in that we’d undoubtedly see some more Master Chief at some point this morning and likely some of Cortana’s digital side boobage, we have to admit Halo 4 wasn’t at the very top of our list of most anticipated games. But now if anything, the next sequel in one of Microsoft’s most popular flagship franchises has emerged stronger than ever.

Starting off with an intense live-action scene that got us even more excited for Prometheus later this week, 343 Industries kickstarted Microsoft’s presentation this year and unveiled a new segment of campaign footage so impressive that anyone who had their doubts whether 343 could fill the massive shoes that Bungie left for them were instantly silenced. Now how about we don’t spoil anything for you, and you watch it for yourself below and check out the official press release from Microsoft?

“Halo 4” marks the return of Master Chief and the beginning of a new saga in the blockbuster franchise that has shaped entertainment history. E3 2012 marks the worldwide premiere of “Halo Infinity Multiplayer,” including the all-new, story-driven experience known as Spartan Ops. A first of its kind, Spartan Ops is an episodic adventure — playable in single-player or cooperatively with up to four players — that blends immersive storytelling, high-quality cinematics and action-packed gameplay to deliver an unprecedented serialized experience. Spartan Ops will extend the “Halo 4” experience well beyond the game’s launch. “Halo 4” hits store shelves on Nov. 6, 2012, delivering its most epic and explorative campaign yet, together with groundbreaking multiplayer action.
