The big week continues for the marketing campaign for next summer’s highly anticipated trilogy bookend to Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise reboot, but another superhero reboot is crawling onto the Web, too.
If you’re hitting up theaters this week to catch The Dark Knight Rises‘ new official trailer or prologue before Sherlock Holmes 2 or the IMAX presentation of Mission: Impossible 4, respectively, you also might spot the new Batman poster. Regardless, here it is below.
Whoa, SPOILER ALERT! “THE LEGEND ENDS”? It might be simply saying that this is director Christopher Nolan’s final entry to the blockbuster series, but that smashed Batman mask seems to suggest something beyond that, especially if The Dark Knight Rises is anything like Bane’s legendary appearance in the Knightfall comic book saga. Guess we’ll find out for sure on July 20, 2012.
But not so fast because July 3, 2012, is the introduction of Andrew Garfield as The Amazing Spider-Man. The new poster, which you can scope out below, teases “THE UNTOLD STORY.”
