One problem I’ve had with Rockstar over the past few years is while they’re constantly making innovations to their open-world games, the shooter mechanics always seem to be behind the curve and the characters always have poor movement animations despite still being very believable and perfectly voice-acted. Not playing the previous Max Payne games (I know, I need to.) and seeing how its bullet time feature has become a staple in modern shooters, I was excited to finally see Max Payne again in gaming and not in another crappy movie… that is until I saw this trailer. Now, I’m really hyped!
The first official gameplay trailer for Max Payne 3 goes over the various new technologies used in the upcoming shooter that looks as if Rockstar has finally dedicated a good amount of time into improving not only their shooter mechanics but taken character movement animations while shooting to the next level. Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3 blew me away a couple weeks ago with how characters realistically moved throughout environments like nothing I had ever seen before, and Max Payne 3 looks to take their ideas to the next level with Max being able to perform all kinds of organic and fluid movements while both standing and prone during what look to be some of the most epic shootouts ever. Check out Rockstar’s rundown of new features in the latest MP3 trailer below.
