2K Games and developer Hangar 13 are looking to fill the open world void that sister company Rockstar left almost three years ago with their own third-person action-adventure game, Mafia III.
Although the two games won’t be sharing the same engine, Mafia III is shaping up to look just as good as Grand Theft Auto V with an impressive take on 1968 New Orleans and lively character models and animations that have been teased in the latest “One Way Road” story trailer.
With the new game comes an interesting new grizzled-voice protagonist by the name of Lincoln Clay. Accompanied by new and old fiends Cassandra, Burke, and Vito Scaletta, Mafia III‘s story will focus on Clay seeking justice after his friends are murdered by the local mafia on the colorful and mean streets of the Big Easy.
Mafia III is set for release on October 7, 2016, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
