Well it looks like MacGyver is coming back and this time to the big-screen. New Line has just announced plans to bring the popular 1985-92 television series back for it’s first ever feature film. Little is known about the details of the film besides that Raffaella De Laurentiis is set to produce.
There is still no writer attached to the film and whether it will be a complete reboot is still unknown. MacGyver played by Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate: Atlantis and SG-1) is now in his 60’s and is unlikely to play the role. To be honest, I’d much rather see a big-screen adaptation of Saturday Night Live’s “MacGruber” sketch.
