In space, no one can hear you scream. Okay, there probably won’t be any aliens in Alfonso Cuarón’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, but from the looks of the first teaser trailer below, Gravity promises to be breathtaking nevertheless. And just imagine what it looks like in 3D! (You can find out for yourself during the previews before most prints of The Great Gatsby.)
Written by Alfonso Cuarón and his son, Gravity is also co-edited, co-produced, and directed by the three-time Oscar nominee. If it’s anything like his last movie, Children of Men, we can expect a profound take on humanity along with some incredible cinematography. Hopefully, we’ll be wowed by some more awesome single-shot sequences, but how can Cuarón come up with some convincing ones in the setting of space without obvious CGI?
With a reported budget of $80 million, Gravity stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, both of whom are Oscar and Golden Globe winners.
Gravity is set for release in 3D on October 4, 2013.
