Epic has you covered if you’re still playing Gears of War 3 or looking for a reason to get back into one of the best games of 2011. Starting today the GoW3 “Fenix Rising” DLC will be available on Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft Points or included as part of the Gears of War 3 Season Pass. “Fenix Rising” is the third of four planned major DLC releases from Epic which “expand the multiplayer battlefield with an arsenal of stunning maps that deliver endless hours of frenetic online action across Versus Multiplayer, Horde and Beast Mode.”
Not only will “Fenix Rising” offer five new multiplayer maps (Academy, Anvil, Depths, Escalation, and The Slab), but the DLC will also gives player four new character skins (Recruit Clayton, Thrashball Cole – Limited Edition, Savage Marauder, and Savage Kantus – Limited Edition) which is sure to upset some fans still playing from the beta with their rare Thrashball Cole skins and make those who missed out on unlocking the skin very happy. People just can’t get enough of the Cole Train, baby! Woo! (If only you could unlock him in the new NFL Blitz… now that would be a great crossover.)
Rising also introduces a new Re-up option, which essentially works like a Prestige Mode by allowing players who reach level 100 to reset their experience and rank and work towards unlocking even more rare icons and skins. So get to leveling, Gears fans. You’ve got a long haul ahead of you.
