While both aging action stars might not be doing too hot at the box office by themselves, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are teaming up once again after the success of The Expendables 2. This time without as many action stars and with the unnecessary addition of 50 Cent (ugh, why?), Schwarzenegger and Stallone are paired together in an effort to escape an inescapable prison that looks like something taken out of The Cabin in the Woods.
The story seems pretty original with an intriguing concept; however, like most action movie trailers these days, the first look seems to give as much away as possible without just showing the actual ending. So if you don’t want any spoilers, I’d suggest not watching it… Still, Escape Plan (originally entitled The Tomb) looks like a fun throwback to classic ’90s action flicks, even with a cast that’s almost two decades past their prime.
Escape Plan is set for release on October 18, 2013, is directed by Mikael Håfström (1408), and also stars Jim Caviezel, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Amy Ryan.
