EA had a lot of great games to show off at their E3 2014 Media Briefing today, but their Battlefield Hardline grand finale easily stood out as their best moment of the show.
Battlefield Hardline was no surprise as the game’s announcement was made a over a week ago and had been rumored for some time, but what was surprising was just how good the chaotic competitive gameplay looks.
Focusing on the cops vs. robbers format that the Payday series really put on the map, DICE and Visceral (Dead Space) are taking the the Battlefield series away from the generic modern warfare setting and bringing it to the authentic streets of Los Angeles.
In typical E3 fashion, the developers have managed to cram more epic moments into a short six-minute demo of the multiplayer than most games accomplish in six full hours. New features like grapple hooks and zip-lines have been revealed, and moments like the crane falling, the oil tanker exploding, and the helicopter crashing are enough to make you smile with joy.
After shocking everyone with all the epic moments, Andrew Wilson from Visceral had one more shocking announcement… Battlefield Hardline‘s beta is available now to download and play. Now, as in right now! So what are you waiting for? Sign up on the official website, and go check it out on PlayStation 4 and PC for the next two weeks before the game launches on October 21, 2014!
