During the Credits

There are no extras during the credits of 72 Hour Mode; however, zombies are shown marching towards the camera during the credits of Overtime Mode.

After the Credits (spoilers)

After the credits of 72 Hour Mode there is a statistics screen showing the player which ending was achieved. If the player gets Ending A, the game goes into Overtime Mode where Isabela is shown saving Frank from zombies on the roof. The player is then granted an additional 24 hours (2 hours real time) in the mall to find materials for Isabela who is trying to make a antidote for Frank.

After the second set of credits there is addition text giving some information about the “True Ending” and whereabouts of Frank West and how news of the zombie outbreak has effected the world.

There is a list of outfits and weapons unlocked after the end of both credits. Infinite Mode is also unlocked after beating Overtime Mode. Infinite Mode turns everyone in the mall against Frank, disables food respawns and the option to save, causes Frank’s health to constantly deplete and allows the game to be played for more than 7 days in-game time.

Alternate Endings (spoilers)

There are 7 different endings depending on how many missions a player completes and if they make it back to the heliport evacuation zone on time.

True Ending: Get Ending A then complete Overtime Mode.

There is text explaining that Frank managed to escape the town of Willamette with information pertinent to the incident under his belt and news of the event caused a fervor throughout the world, leading to the U.S. Government admitting partial culpability in the livestock research program. The text then explains that no connection to the Willamette incident was acknowledged by the U.S. Government and the events that occurred there were deemed the work of a fringe terrorist group and that the people of the world let the incident fade from their minds. The text ends by saying that Carlito’s plan has yet to be confirmed or proven false and the line “And yet he complained. That his belly was not full.”

Ending A: Solve all cases and return to the heliport at 12 PM on the 22nd.

Frank is shown waiting for the helicopter pilot to come back and pick him up, but after not seeing the helicopter anywhere, he assumes that the pilot isn’t coming back for him. Just as Frank is about to give up all hope, he sees the helicopter in the distance flying back to pick him up, but before the helicopter lands, a zombie is shown attacking the pilot and causing the helicopter to crash into the mall. Frank drops to his knees and gives up as the scene ends with zombies closing in on him.

Ending B: Solve all cases and rescue a certain number of survivors.

The pilot is shown picking up Frank, who tells him that they will have more people to transfer. The ending text explains that the cause of the infection remains a mystery and that there were similar zombie outbreaks in cities across America.

Ending C: Don’t get to the heliport on time and solve all cases.

The pilot is shown coming back for Frank, but after landing the helicopter the pilot is attacked by a zombie while looking for Frank. The ending text explains that the area was quarantined and no one was ever able to report what happened there.

Ending D: Be a prisoner of the special forces at 12 PM on the 22nd.

The ending text explains that the special forces cleaned up the mess, but the truth about what happened remains a mystery.

Ending E: Don’t be at the heliport and don’t solve all cases.

Otis and Jessie are shown escaping in the helicopter. There is then text that explains that the survivors credit Frank for their escape, but he was never heard from again.

Ending F: Fail to collect all of Carlito’s bombs on act 7-2.

After time runs out, Carlito’s bombs go off and the ending text rolls, explaining that the explosions caused the contamination to spread and cause a nationwide epidemic.
