After the Credits (spoilers)

Just like the first Dead Rising, after the credits there is a gameplay summary scene which gives statics and explains what ending the player received. If the S Ending is achieved during the story, then the game will go into Overtime Mode after the credits. Overtime Mode continues the story and explains that TK has kidnapped Katey and Stacey. Chuck is given a time limit to collect items for TK and save Katey and Stacey from TK. After beating TK and getting the real ending, there is a second set of credits, but there are no other extras after the second credits.

Alternate Endings (spoilers)

There are 8 different endings depending on how well the game is played and how many objectives are completed.

Ending S (True Ending): Complete all cases, give Katey all 4 doses of Zombrex and give TK Zombrex after he’s been bitten.

Chuck arrives on the roof of the safe house with the media choppers, but can’t find Katey and Stacey. After telling the choppers to go without him, Chuck gets a call from TK who explains that he’s kidnapped Katey and Stacey and will kill them unless Chuck does what he wants. After this cutscene the game goes into overtime mode where extra missions are unlocked and Chuck has to find items for TK. After finding all items, Chuck can go to the arena and have a final battle with TK. Once Chuck defeats TK there is one last cutscene that shows Chuck, Katey, and Stacey walking away, all holding hands. If Overtime Mode is failed there is also a scene that shows TK lowering Katey and Stacey into the pit of zombies.

Ending A: Complete all cases and give Katey her Zombrex, but don’t give Zombrex to TK.

Chuck is shown arriving to the roof of the safe house with helicopters to save the survivors. As Stacey carries Katey to the helicopter she drops Katey’s backpack. Chuck goes back to get the backpack explaining that all of her mother’s things are in it, but as he goes back the elevator opens and TK in zombie form grabs Chuck. Chuck fights TK until he is swarmed by zombies and taken down onto the ground. Stacey goes back to help chuck, but the elevator doors close as Chuck is still fighting the zombies. The scene ends with Stacey and Katey escaping in the helicopter and the message “Unable to effectively deal with the Fortune City outbreak, the U.S. Government dispatched a squadron of bombers to level Fortune City, erasing all traces of life, both alive and undead. A convoy of civilian media choppers managed to rescue the safe house survivors shortly before the bombing. Thanks to the evidence and testimony presented by Stacey Forstyhe, Chuck Greene was cleared of all charges against him, and lauded as a hero for exposing the Phenotrans conspiracy. The Fortune City outbreak came in time to be known itself as ‘Fortune’s End’.”

Ending B: Give Katey Zombrex but fail mission 6-4.

Fighter jets are shown flying over Fortune City and dropping bombs on the zombies. After the scene there is a message that says “Unable to effectively deal with the Fortune City outbreak, the U.S. Government dispatched a squadron of bombers to level the city, erasing all traces of life, both alive and undead. There is no record of the shelter dwellers having made it out of the city alive. Whether they succumbed to zombie attack of were incinerated in the subsequent firebombing is unknown.

Ending C: Fail certain cases throughout the game such as the first case.

The military is shown quarantining the city then Chuck is shown in the surveillance room getting shot in the chest. After the final scenes there is a message explaining that no survivors were found.

Ending D: Don’t be in the safe house when the military arrives.

Chuck is shown captured by the military who tell him that they have to clean up the mess he created. After the final scene there is a message that says “The attempted military rescue of the survivors of the Fortune City outbreak was considered a failure. The military was unprepared to deal with what they found. There is no record of any shelter dwellers having made it out of the city alive. Chuck Greene was reportedly captured by the military early in the operation, but no proof of this was ever found. The incident came to be known as the ‘Greene Outbreak’.”

Ending E: Fail a case mission that doesn’t involve getting Katey Zombrex.

Same cutscene as Ending D.

Ending F: Fail to give Katey any of the 4 doses on Zombrex.

Chuck is shown in the safe house holding Katey’s bag. Stacy tries to comfort Chuck by telling him that it’s not his fault she died. As Stacey opens the door to leave, zombies begin forcing their way into the room. Chuck stands in silence as the zombies flood into the room and allows himself to be killed by them. After the scene there is a message saying “The military was unable to find any survivors in the shelter. The incident later came to be known as the ‘Green Outbreak’.”
