In the extra scene, Mater is shown back home in his shack where he was earlier in the film when McQueen called.
He is organizing his shack with his new Dinoco hat piece singing a funny song when the FaceTime ringtone plays and scares him. He knocks off part of his shack’s roof support which causes tires to come crashing down around him. He shakes his head and says, “Technology.”
