Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer Trailer

Activision's Attempt to Take the Series to New Heights

August 11, 2014 by

Year after year, the annual installments of new Call of Duty games with slight tweaks and record-setting sales just add fuel to the fire for those who can’t stand the series anymore. But even if you’re sick of the franchise by now, you have to give some credit to Activision for trying to shake things up a bit and take the modern shooter away from its comfort zone and into a futuristic setting with exciting new gameplay mechanics.

The latest addition to the Call of Duty family makes the franchise’s frantic gameplay look even crazier like a mash-up of games like Titanfall and Tribes and movies like Elysium and Edge of Tomorrow. The combination of exoskeleton mech suits, ray guns, destructible environments, and other future tech actually looks… pretty sweet. If anything, the reveal trailer for Advanced Warfare makes you want to go back and play more Titanfall. Plus with 100% more Kevin Spacey? This year’s new-gen Call of Duty might be the first one worth buying in a long time.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 4, 2014, with 24-hour early access to those who pre-order it now.
