Bungie Gives a First Look at Destiny

The Latest from the Creators of Halo

February 17, 2013 by

With just a couple days before Sony most likely unveils the PlayStation 4 at their upcoming 2013 Meeting, Bungie, the creators behind the iconic Halo series, have released their embargo on their new IP. Now that Bungie is officially done with Halo, they’ve been working on their most ambitious project yet, Destiny, a game that still looks and sounds a lot like Halo, but with gameplay features that promise a whole lot more.

Bungie is still not giving away that much in terms of details since Destiny is probably going to be a launch title or at least released shortly after the launch of the yet to be announced PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720.

In a new ViDoc, Bungie has tons of details that you’ll want to check out regarding the game they’re defining as a “shared world shooter” that you can think of somewhat like an MMOFPS and mash-up of other popular titles like HaloPlanetside, Borderlands, Mass Effect, and Journey.

Although it sounds very much like an open world MMO, Bungie is trying to sell the game as something different with project director Jason Jones explaining, “Destiny knows you’re tired, impatient, and distracted. [Players] don’t want to work hard. They don’t want to read. They don’t want to go to the Internet to figure out our bullshit.”

Check out a first official look at Destiny which will be sure to have plenty of new info as more details on next-gen consoles are also revealed.
