Casting rumors for upcoming superhero and villain roles these days are a dime a dozen, so usually whenever we hear of some news we ignore it until an official press release. However, sometimes we do make exceptions such as the latest case where Bryan Cranston, star of AMC’s critically acclaimed Breaking Bad series, has given some consideration to playing the upcoming villain role in the highly anticipated next Superman film.
Cranston playing the perfect good guy gone bad with a shaved head in Breaking Bad is almost too perfect, and now he’s given a response back to the rumors after giving some thought about the role:
“Give me a call,” he said to Metro in a recent interview with a grin. “I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”
With Cranston being done with Breaking Bad and the sequel likely beginning to shoot next year, the stars might align for this one and give even more reason to get hyped for the next Superman film. Seems like one of the only people not excited by this is Cranston’s wife…
“She wasn’t so keen on the bald head,” Cranston admitted. “The bald head ages a man. It’s just that she didn’t know me that way, and the last six years it’s all of a sudden like sleeping with a stranger — who was less exciting than her own husband. So I don’t blame her for being upset.”
Hopefully she can get past the bald head for a little bit longer and Zack Snyder makes it happen, because Batman vs. Superman vs. Heisenberg has The Dark Knight potential.
