Avengers: Endgame is Returning to Theaters with a New Post-Credits Scene

Marvel is Looking to Dethrone Avatar as the Highest-Grossing Movie of All-Time

June 20, 2019 by

So far, this summer’s record-breaking Avengers finale has generated $2.743 billion at the box office and easily surpassed all of Marvel’s previous films.

But while Endgame wrapped up Marvel’s 11-year saga in a way that left most fans happy, there’s still one foe that the Avengers haven’t been able to defeat… Avatar.

Falling just short of passing Avatar‘s box office record of $2.78 billion, Marvel has decided to bring the Avengers back to theaters next week in an attempt to generate the $42 million it needs to become the highest-grossing movie of all-time.

Since Endgame was the only Avengers film to not feature extra scenes during and after the credits, Marvel is bringing the film back with an extra scene after the credits and “a few other surprises” to entice movie-goers on June 28, 2019.

Avatar had it’s own re-release back in 2010, which only brought in an extra $10.7 million domestically. And with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home hitting theaters on July 2, 2019, it’ll be interesting to see if enough Avengers fans can assemble and help their favorite heroes take the throne before time runs out again.
