After rumors of Edward Norton getting into disputes with the producers over what scenes should make the final cut in 2008’s Incredible Hulk remake, there has been tons of speculation over whether Norton would reprise his role as the Hulk in the upcoming Avengers movies, set for release over the next couple years. That speculation can now be laid to rest after Marvel had the stars of the upcoming Avengers series make an appearance at the end of this year’s Captain America and Thor Comic-Con panel.
Marvel announced that Norton is no longer attached to the series, and Mark Ruffalo (Zodiac) is officially the new Bruce Banner aka the Incredible Hulk. In addition to Marvel’s announcement about Mark Ruffalo being cast as the new Hulk, Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) also made it up on stage to confirm that he will be playing another one of Marvel’s superheros, Hawkeye.
