It’s official, thanks to inflation and increases in ticket prices due to 3D, James Cameron’s Avatar has surpassed James Cameron’s Titanic as the top grossing movie of all time. That’s right, the highest two grossing films of all time were both directed by James Cameron. Although when adjusting for inflation, Gone With the Wind is still the highest with a $400 million worldwide gross in 1939 translating to $6 billion today.
