Assassin’s Creed III at E3 2012

Ubisoft Reveal Gameplay Demo and Cinematic Trailer

June 4, 2012 by

Yearly installments of the Assassin’s Creed series have lead to gamers developing a love-hate relationship with Ubisoft’s flagship series. Like the Call of Duty series, each year the games get better, but because it’s only been five years since the series debuted and we already have five games on major consoles (nine, if you count all the games) it’s easy to see how some gamers could see the series as being milked to death.

Today’s trailer, followed by actual gameplay, finally showed off ACIII‘s brand new American Revolution setting — a setting that looks to help revive the series for anyone feeling they’ve already seen and done it all in the Assassin’s Creed universe. I have to admit, I don’t love or hate the Assassin’s Creed games, but I was blown away by its gameplay debut back in 2007 at E3, and what I saw today gave me that same feeling. Check out the Assassin’s Creed III trailer and gameplay demo below.

The American Colonies, 1775. As a Native American Assassin fights to protect his land and his people, he will ignite the flames of a young nation’s revolution. In Assassin’s Creed® III, eliminate your enemies with guns, bows, tomahawks, and more! In development for over three years, the game features the new Ubisoft-AnvilNext engine, a stunning technology that will revolutionize gaming.
