Chances are you haven’t heard of Don’t Nod Entertainment’s upcoming sci-fi game that is currently under the working title ADRIFT. The game sounds like a mash-up of Total Recall, Blade Runner, and Mass Effect with augmented reality and memory manipulation taking control of peoples’ lives. The 3rd person action-adventure game is set for release in Fall 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, however, there has yet to be any images or footage of the actual gameplay shown to the public.

Even without any actual gameplay footage, the plot and recent trailer are enough to get fans of sci-fi games excited. The art direction shown in the concept video and images is absolutely stunning and I’ll be satisfied if the game’s final result is half as good looking. The last remainders of intimacy have been swept away, in what appears to be a simple extension of the development of social networks and geolocation at the beginning of the 21st century.
