With Skyrim and Rage done, everyone has been dying to know what Bethesda is going to do next. The publisher behind one of 2011’s best games and biggest disappointments has remained rather silent in 2012 regarding their upcoming games in development. We’ve even heard rumors that Prey 2 might be cancelled (please Bethesda, no!) and Doom 4 isn’t likely to be released until the next generation of consoles. So everyone is wondering, what’s next for guys and girls of Bethesda?
The only other game listed in development by a Bethesda studio is Dishonored and today the debut trailer for the highly secretive game has finally been released. Dishonored is a first-person diesel punk stealth action game that looks to take a lot of elements from BioShock and Assassin’s Creed. Although the game isn’t from the same developers as Fallout or Skyrim, the latest amazing CGI trailer looks just as good, if not even better, and is sure to get gamers hyped. Check out more details and the debut trailer below:
Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with strange technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man.
In Dishonored, creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.
