In similar fashion to his last film, District 9, there isn’t much known about Neill Blomkamp’s latest sci-fi thriller entitled Elysium. The film stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, and Sharlto Copley, and is said to be a sci-fi story set 100 years in the future with Matt Damon playing an ex-con and Jodie Foster playing the head of state of an alien race.
Viral marketing posters have been turning up at Comic-Con with a company called “Armadyne” stating that they’re “Taking mankind into the future.” The signs have the website www.ARMADYNE.net and the tagline “Come Build With Us” on them. When you visit the site there’s a short video clip for the company that is looking to recruit people such as “zero-g welders, mega-structure engineers, quantum networkers and experts in zero-g coupling and multi-generational planning,” in order to accomplish “the most ambitious project ever undertaken by mankind.” Sounds like they should call up Isaac Clarke from Dead Space. Elysium is set for release on March 1, 2013.
