It does this via multiple interlocking storylines and fine acting by an ensemble cast that features Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, and Scarlett Johansson. However, these could be double-edged swords if you’re unprepared for a two-hour talkfest. Can you keep track of a half-dozen he-said/she-said subplots that you’ll probably guess the endings to anyway? And the nine-person ensemble is so crowded that I forgot that producer Drew Barrymore was even in it.
Honestly, I still can’t tell you anything about her role or story. A somewhat pointless peek into various relationships of people arbitrarily connected to one another, this polarizing but decent film left me thinking, I’m just not that into this. On the other side are those who don’t have enough drama in their lives, those who find pleasure in observing others’ drama, and those who delight in love triangles, pentagons, and octagons. He’s Just Not That Into You gets 2.5 out of 5 stars.
