After getting my sensory nerves overloaded and fried last night watching the new Transformers, it’s kind of hard to be wowed by any action not featuring fighting robots (sorry, Real Steel, you still don’t qualify). However, I’m still looking forward to the next Mission: Impossible, which has dropped the sequel number from its title and is aiming for a December 2011 release.
The spy thriller returns Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, and Simon Pegg and adds Best Actor Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner and Josh Holloway from Lost (looks like producer J.J. Abrams hooked Sawyer up).
It’ll be interesting to see how director Brad Bird (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille) handles a live-action flick. Until then, you can check out the first trailer for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol below.
