With E3 less than a month away, the new game announcements are starting to pour in. Yesterday, we found out that the sequel to Warhawk, entitled “Starhawk”, is in development and set for release in 2012 exclusively on PlayStation 3.
And today, after news started to leak on Modern Warfare 3, Activision has decided to officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 via a brand new YouTube channel that includes the first launch trailer in typical Modern Warfare fashion that shows almost nothing. The trailer announcement was just made by Robert Bowling (Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward) who had this to say on Twitter:
Wasn’t planned, but you’re clearly hyped, so here is the 1st of many Modern Warfare 3 videos coming in hot today!
I don’t think there was any question that there wouldn’t be a new Call of Duty game come this November, but now it’s official that the next game in the series will in-fact be Modern Warfare 3, which looks like will have it’s main setting in America. The real question is — Which first-person shooter will reign supreme come later this year when both Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 are released around the same time?
