2007’s BioShock was one of the most original and best games of all time. Developed by Irrational Games, BioShock took players into the underwater city known as Rapture where all sorts of superhero-like powers could be discovered as players tried to solve the mysteries surrounding the city and main protagonist Jack’s origins. However, the same couldn’t be said for 2010’s sequel, BioShock 2, that wasn’t developed by Irrational and left players confused and disappointed as the game failed to achieve that sense of originality the first game did so well.
With BioShock 2 being released just 7 months ago, it’s pretty soon for talk of a sequel, let alone a sequel that truly raises the bar and isn’t just another game rushed through production to sell copies. But Irrational Games, the developers of the original BioShock who weren’t a part of the production of BioShock 2 are taking the series back and in a whole ‘nother direction. Infinite takes place in a new utopian city far up in the sky and if this latest gameplay trailer is any indication of how good the game is going to be, then it’s looking pretty damn amazing. Although the gameplay sequences shown in this 10 minute trailer most likely won’t play-out the same in the finished game, these are 10 minutes of your life you’ll want to invest and will make you want to run out and pre-order the game right now.
